A HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN A FOREST CLEARING

West Woodside is an extremely comfortable self-catering cottage set amid the heather clad hills & Scots pines of Royal Deeside.
Wildlife is abundant with rabbits, red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards, jays & woodpeckers frequently being seen from the Sun Lounge.

The cottage was aquired in the late 1960's by Ken & Jeanne Booth, who have modernised & upgraded it over the years. Several traditional features still remain, such as the original ingle-neuk fireplace complete with ''swey''. It has been a self-catering cottage registered with the Tourist Board since 1983.

The small village of Logie Coldstone is 1/3 of a mile away. The local hostelry (closed Thursday day-time) is the Airedale Lounge where Sandra offers bar food to sit in or take-away and a small shop counter. When closed an 'honesty' newspaper stand can be found in the vestibule.

Logie Coldstone is 35 miles west of Aberdeen and 4 miles north of the main Deeside road (A93) at Dinnet.
West Woodside can be found on Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 37 (Strathdon) or Explorer Map 405 (Aboyne, Alford and Strathdon), at grid Reference NJ431041.
